#CPVAANewsRecently, I met with Andrew Greaves, the Victorian Auditor General. The Auditor-General is an independent officer of the Victorian Parliament, supported by around 185 staff, to provide assurance to Parliament and the Victorian community about how effectively public sector agencies are providing services and using public money. His office achieves this through an annual program of financial and performance audits of state and local government public sector entities. These audits examine: • the effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of government agencies, programs and services • the quality of resources management • opportunities for improvements in management practices and systems • the fair presentation of annual financial statements and performance statements • compliance with legislative and other requirements • wastage or lack of probity in the management of public resources’. We raised a number of issues with Mr Greaves and he is now considering those matters. It is inappropriate at this stage to say what those matters are while they’re being investigated. We will advise you as information becomes available. However, we can advise the Auditor General will be doing an inquiry into the Taxi and Hire Car Reforms starting 2020. You'll find more information at https://www.audit.vic.gov.au/report/reforming-taxi-industry-and-ride-sharing-services ... See MoreSee Less
